No More Micro-Managing Your Dog

Today I want to talk about how we as humans tend to micromanage our dogs and how that is really not necessary when you set them up for success.

For example, we have to tell our dogs to sit and stay at the front door so that they don’t bolt out when we open it.

What if I could tell you there is a better way?

Or what about those dogs that go ballistic while you are prepping food, and just about knock the bowl out of your hands as you try to deliver it?

How about that dog that barks uncontrollably at a knock at the door…or the doorbell?

I actually just asked the question in my Free Dog Training & Wellness FB Group yesterday “What is one bad habit that your dog has that you would like to change?” Barking was one of the TOP problems that people are dealing with.  This goes to show that you are not alone if you have this problem too.

The list of “bad dog” behavior goes on and on.

I don’t know about you, but I would prefer to teach my dogs to make good choices from the get go, so that we are not faced with fixing the issues after the fact (though lets be real…that happens more than not) My goal is to teach my dogs a skill set that is rewardable, that the value that I bring to the table out weights their choice of the bad decision.

So what does that look like?

In the case of the door bolter….who wouldn’t love to have a dog where you could open the door and your dog automatically stays inside…no verbal sit & stay command?

How about the dog that lays quietly at your feet as you prep food, and then patiently waits to be released to the bowl…all without a fuss or verbal cue?

Or the dog that chooses to go to their bed when they hear a knock at the door or the doorbell?

I am here to tell you, it is all possible and if you want this type of reliability with your dog, your first step is to join my FREE Masterclass starting July 25th…only 10 days away!!
